Here’s Week 43 of the 52-week Photo Challenge. The challenge for week 43 is Portrait; specifically, Elderly. For this week’s challenge, I decided to use one of the shots that I took during my trip to Rajasthan, India. We were visiting a temple and I saw this elderly gentleman selling peacock feathers. I loved the way he looked with the orange turban, while shirt, and peacock feathers. So, I took 1 shot with his permission. I didn’t want him to pose so I was looking for a moment and Sowmya struck a conversation with him. I am not sure what they talked about but he had a big smile on his face and I immediately frame and clicked.
Here’s Week 41 of the 52-week Photo Challenge. The challenge for week 41 is Landscape; specifically, Get High. The goal was to find a high perspective to shoot landscape. This is opposite to the last Landscape challenge, where the goal was to get low.
For this week’s challenge, I decided to use another shot from my recent trip to Yosemite National Park. On the 2nd day of our recent trip to Yosemite with Sowmya’s mom, we decided to drive up Tioga Pass. This road is closed most of the year and it’s only open for a few months. It was a great experience driving and stopping at different spots. One of the spots we stopped was Olmsted Point. This is one of the highest points in the park and the hike to the viewpoint is very short (less than half mile) but the views are breathtaking. Since you are pretty high up, the wind was pretty high as well.
