Here’s Week 29 of the 52-week Photo Challenge. The challenge for week 29 is Landscape; specifically, Waterscape. For this week’s challenge, I decided to use one of the sunset shots from Carmel-by-the-Sea. The sunset from Carmel was one of the best we have seen. The beach didn’t have any interesting foreground so I decided to just do long exposure. I tried exposure bracketing so that I can either combine the shots to get the dynamic range or use one of the 3 photos that turns out well.
This shot was not an ultra long exposure but just long enough to smooth out the water completely. The end result made the water look like clouds. I loved the way this turned out. The setting sun was reflecting in the smooth, cloudy water. I decided to give this photo an oomph factor and decided to add a couple of birds flying. The silhouette of the birds with everything else in the photo made this one of my best photos.
